Beyoncé’s Coachella Performance Shatters YouTube Record

Beychella keeps making history. On Saturday (April 14), Beyoncé became the the first black woman to headline the festival. Her epic performance was also the most-viewed performance in Coachella history.

Approximately 458,000 viewers from around the world tuned into watch Queen Bey slay on YouTube, the most ever for a single Coachella performance since they started streaming the festival eight years ago. The two-hour extravaganza featured cameos from Destiny’s Child, JAY-Z, and Solange.

Overall, Bey helped Coachella have its biggest YouTube numbers of all time. This year, the fest earned 43.1 million views and streams from across the globe, the most of any live festival in YouTube history.

Mrs. Carter also gave Twitter traction. “Beychella” was reportedly mentioned about 2.2 million times on Twitter. The social media platform also included the highest tweets per minute near the end of her set, according to Billboard. This is all the more impressive since Beyoncé isn’t even an active Twitter user, with her last post coming in June of 2017.

Queen Bey is using the HBCU-inspired performance to do good. Following her show-stopping set, the philanthropist announced a $100,000 Homecoming Scholars Award program for HBCU students.

Bey is back in Indio, Calif. this weekend for Weekend 2 of Coachella on Saturday (April 21).

Iggy Azalea & Tyga Fuel Romance Rumors at Coachella

Are Tyga and Iggy Azalea dating? The rappers fueled romance rumors when they stepped out together at Coachella this weekend.

On Friday (April 13), paparazzi spotted the two walking the festival grounds together. Fans also took to social media after seeing the rumored new couple throughout the weekend.

Iggy and Tyga appeared together on “TRL” on Valentine’s Day. They were also reportedly spotted at a business meeting at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood, according to the Daily Mail. Last month, they were seen skating together at World on Wheels in Los Angeles.

The rumored couple may have even traveled together. Iggy recently joined Tyga during a hip-hop festival in Melbourne, where he called her the “queen of Australia.” Earlier today, she posted a photo of herself in a car with Chris Brown and Tyga’s “Loyal” video playing in the background.

Tyga and Iggy are no strangers to high-profile relationships. T-Raww previously dated models Kylie Jenner and Blac Chyna, while Azalea was reportedly with French Montana and engaged to Nick Young.

Cardi B Brings Out Chance the Rapper, G-Eazy, & Kehlani at Coachella

Who wants to party with Cardi B? Fresh off the No. 1 debut of her album Invasion of Privacy, the platinum hitmaker celebrated in the desert during a star-studded Coachella set dubbed “Boachella.”

Clad in a TLC-inspired all-white outfit, the history-making MC opened Sunday’s show in Indio, Calif. with “Get Up 10,” the intro to her chart-topping album. After going into her mixtape bag for “Lick” and “Foreva,” Bardi called on some friends for help.

“I’m running out of breath,” said the mom-to-be. “You know my pregnant ass. I’d like to get my friends to help me out. Give it up for my friend G-Eazy.”

The duo performed their smash “No Limit” as dancers worked the pole. BlocBoy JB entered for a “Shoot” intermission, while YG (“She Bad”), Kehlani (“Ring”), 21 Savage (“Bartier Cardi”), and Chance the Rapper (“Best Life”) all added to the star power.

After twerking on stage, Cardi B thanked her supporting cast via Instagram. “Thank you sooo much @chancetherapper for coming out !!! Means a lot to me,” she wrote. “Thank you sooo much @g_eazy for always being there and popping out !! No Limit is such a big record !So happy you choose me to be in it !!!! I want to thank @kehlani for coming out and just always keeping in touch.She such a beautiful soul guys, beautiful person with a dope personality.”

Cardi B recently confirmed a $70,000-per-night payday for Coachella but also revealed that she spent $300,000 on her set. “I didn’t know Coachella was such a big deal,” she told SiriusXM. “I did not know it was a lot of people…We doing 10-hour rehearsals straight…You gotta get it right.”

Eminem Brings Out Dr. Dre & 50 Cent at Coachella

Just one day after Beyoncé turned Coachella into Beychella, Eminem closed out the first weekend of the festival with a fiery and nostalgic performance in the desert.

Mentor Dr. Dre, who headlined with Snoop Dogg in 2012, made a surprise cameo during Slim Shady’s set. The longtime collaborators performed “Still D.R.E.,” “Forgot About Dre,” and a reworked version of “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang” as a trip down memory lane.

50 Cent joined his Gatman and Robbin partner-in-rhyme for their “Patiently Waiting” collaboration. The G-Unit boss then ran through some classics of his own, including “I Get Money” and “In Da Club” before the duo got back together for “Crack a Bottle.”

Frequent collaborator Skylar Grey also lent her vocals. She filled in for Beyoncé on “Walk on Water,” Rihanna on “Love the Way You Lie,” and Dido on “Stan.” Meanwhile, D12’s Denaun Porter played the hype man role throughout the evening and even co-hosted a “Mean Tweets” segment.

Throughout the evening, Marshall Mathers thrilled the crowd with hits spanning his 20-year career. He began with cuts like “Till I Collapse,” “White America,” and “Sing for the Moment,” and closed with classics including “My Name Is,” “Not Afraid,” and “Lose Yourself.”

In addition to Em, Day 3 of Coachella featured performances from Cardi B, Migos, Miguel, French Montana, Jidenna, 6LACK, and more.

Watch Beyoncé’s Epic Coachella Performance

Coachella turns into Beychella. Beyoncé proved why she is one of the world’s greatest entertainers on Saturday (April 14) with a history-making performance on Day 2 of Coachella.

After postponing last year’s performance due to her pregnancy, Queen Bey slayed with a spectacular 105-minute set, complete with a marching band, outfit changes, and fireworks. Backed by an army of 100 dancers and band members, she kicked off the homecoming-themed performance with a pep rally. After entering in a regal Balmain ensemble, ‘Yoncé changed into a yellow hoodie and denim cutoff shorts.

“Coachella, y’all ready?” she asked before opening with “Crazy in Love.” She owned the stage with hit after hit, including “Freedom,” “Formation,” “Sorry,” “Bow Down,” “Diva,” “Flawless,” “Feeling Myself,” and “Don’t Hurt Yourself.”

As the first African-American female headliner, Queen Bey thrilled festivalgoers with a cameo from JAY-Z (“Déjà Vu”) before reuniting with her Destiny’s Child groupmates. Dressed in matching outfits, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams hit the stage for a trio of hits including “Lose My Breath,” “Say My Name,” and “Soldier.” Even Solange popped up for a “Get Me Bodied” dance off.

Following fan favorites like “Single Ladies,” ‘Yoncé delivered a heartwarming speech to her fans at home and in Indio, Calif. “I just wanna say thank you guys. I’m so happy that I’m here,” she said. I was supposed to perform at Coachella before but I ended up getting pregnant, thank God, and I had time to dream and dream and dream with two beautiful souls in my belly. I dreamt up this performance. This is everything and more than I dreamt of it being. Thank for sharing this with me.”
